Subject: Make Object Follow Path?

Enivob ( ) posted Mon, 10 July 2006 at 8:51 PM · edited Fri, 24 July 2026 at 2:16 PM

Hi All,

How do you make an object follow a path?

I have read through the manual and it is so vague that I can not figure it out.

I have created an open ended spline.

I have created a cube and on  it's motion tab I have selected motion path.

But what now, how do I link the path to the cube?

The manual says to control click the cube and move it over the path, but because the motion is being controlled by a path, it will not move? What gives, is this a sequence order probelm?

Thanks,

     Enivob

I too would like to get some more info on this feature.  I once got the cube to go along the path but it would get turned around alot.

Attached Link: One of many ways to make a motion path work.

Check out the movie and see if it helps. Mark

Thanx Mark! I've tried Motion Paths a few times and was always clunking along. You showed very simply how to do it a better way. Thanx! :D

Thank you Mark, your video tutorial is great. For some reason the manual is slightly confusing and inadequate on this task, so I really appreciate your clarification.
