Subject: How do you use an image to create logo?

Chrisdmd ( ) posted Thu, 20 January 2005 at 11:21 PM · edited Sun, 05 July 2026 at 7:34 AM

I want to create a 3D logo from an image file I have (.gif). How do I import the image to trace over in the spline modeller? Thanks

You can't in the spline modeler, only in the vertex modeler. In the spline modeler you can import an Adobe Illustrator file, (.ai type) and use that as you starting point. I've done 'instant-3D-logo' this way for clients without having to do a lot of tweeking and they loved it. :D Good luck!

You can trace the GIF to create an .ai file for the spline modeler. There's a shareware program called Mayura Draw that will allow you to do that, or you can also download a free software package called SerifDraw 4 plus at the link I've attached. The package is free, but they will send you e-mails asking you to upgrade and stuff; maybe one every month or so. It hasn't been annoying to me, and I have a very low tolerance for spam. (They also have other free, older versions of their software with some photo editing stuff and more.) HTH!
