Having trouble with lumpy meshes. They display nicely within Carrara but don't work so well when exported to, say, Poser. I've tried subdividing but have limited success there; the subdivision randomly smooths certain surfaces, and others it hews exactly the face of the original polygon, creating odd flat spots and sharp edges everywhere. And sometimes vertices go flying completely when I subdivide; single vertices go flyng off in strange directions and have to be dragged back. As a work-around I've been smoothing in Amorphium, and even re-importing after that is an improvement. But I would love to be able to smooth a surface in some logical way -- better yet, one that interpolated smooth surfaces where asked, and maintained sharp edges where asked. I haven't learned subdivision surfaces yet....is this what to explore?
