Subject: Vert modeler slowdown

Anyone else had a problem where the program (particularly the vertex modeler) gets extremely bogged down and takes about fifteen minutes to do anything? It seems to happen regardless of poly counts, etc. I get it mostly in Ray Dream but I think it happened once or twice in Carrara, too, and I was wondering if there's a fix for it or something...

I have found when that happens, I just shut down, restart the machine, and it seems to fix itself. It comes from what programmers call a memory leak. The program doesn't release memory when it goes on to do something else, and the whole system will slow down because of it. After you re-boot, all of the memory is cleared and everything runs quicker... until it leaks again. :< Hope this helps.

I had the exact same experience with Raydream and bluetones fix is what I did. -Kixsupercool.gif

What operating do you have? You can get software that will fix those memory leak problems. Brian
