Do I need to sign up to participate in a challenge?

No. Challenges are open to everyone, and you can join at any time.

How long do challenges run?

Most challenges run from the beginning of the month until the last few days of the month. The final 3–5 days are reserved for staff voting. In some cases, a challenge may be extended if the topic requires additional time.

Can I create my own challenge?

Yes. Any community member may post a challenge. Challenges can be directed to the entire forum or to a specific member.

If you're creating a challenge for the whole community, try to choose a theme that is broad enough to encourage participation from artists of all skill levels and software platforms.

Where do I post my completed challenge entry?

Post your entry in the challenge thread. You can either embed the image directly in your post or include a link to the image. Images may be uploaded to your Renderosity gallery and linked from there.

Are there prizes for participating?

Yes. Challenge winners receive Render Rewards Points.

Who chooses the monthly challenge theme?

Challenge themes are selected by a Staff Moderator.

Who selects the winner?

Challenge winners are chosen by Staff Moderators through a voting process.

Can I vote for myself?

No. Challenge winners are selected through staff voting only.

How many times does each staff member vote?

Each Staff Moderator receives one vote per challenge.

How many entries can I submit?

You may submit as many entries as you'd like. However, multiple entries may split votes among your own submissions, so keep that in mind when entering.

Can I submit an older image?

You can, but the goal of the Challenge Arena is to inspire creativity and help artists grow their skills. While an existing image may fit the theme, we encourage you to create something new or rework an older piece to make it challenge-specific.
