From 1995 until 2012, I proudly served our country in the United States Army. In January 2012, I was medically retired, as a Captain,  because of issues relating to my deployments. Initially, I intended to fight to stay in and serve until I was good and ready to leave.  After much thought, i realized that I was ready.
I had  managed to hide the artist side of me for 16 and a half years and I knew that it was time to start over and begin Act Two.   I am proud of my service but I am equally proud of being an artist, and I will be making art for the rest of my life.  I work in a broad spectrum of media but am currently focusing on Photography. I am mostly captivated by nature and her delicate dance with things man-made. Her masterful ability to embrace our intrusions and pour her beauty over them is what motivates me to do my best to capture images whenever and wherever I can.  I will proudly serve her and hope I do so well.
For now, I am mostly broke and wrestling with my "issues"...but I am oddly happy.  I am doing what, deep inside, I always knew I should be doing.  I am  the Artist Formerly Known as Captain.  (I don't have a fancy symbol though)
