Well, I have to start somewhere, so I guess here is ideal - thanks Renderosity for the opportunity!
I'm a Brit, and at heart, I'm a computer geek; I dropped art at school very early, it wasn't really my thing. However, I've played with rendering over the years, making pictures for my own amusement, and to see if certain things would work - but recently, through pure tinkering around, I've got my renders to a level that doesn't embarrass me (well, it doesn't embarrass me too badly ;-)), and I've started to chastise myself for lurking in a community that has given me so much (not least those wonderful folk who post free stuff on Renderosity, and patiently explain things on the forums).
So, I'll gradually delurk - I plan to add some pics, post on the forums when I reckon I can contribute, and even (when I get my Modo skills a little sharper) post some of my own free stuff back to the community. To kick things off, this pic is the one I did for my avatar (Pangur Bán - "White Cat" in Gaelic - is a poem I like) - it's a straight P7 render of the DAZ Millenium Cat Bundle, with a 'venetian blind' spot (ie Advanced Material Properties->Intensity with a shuttered imagemap - can't remember where I first saw that done, sorry).
Cheers
