Description

This picture made 100% in Bryce 5 and GeoControl is a personal illustration of the actual beginning of Viking settlements in Iceland that took place in the ninth century, a couple of decades after the very first inhabitants who were Irish hermits who landed in Iceland around the year 800 A.D.The peculiar scenery and light illustrate my first encounter with this country, as I flew to Iceland from Paris at night, and I'll always remember the unnerving and strange darkness over the lava fields and mossy craters surrounding Keflavik international airport ! Great creation and interesting information Jean-Luc. Iceland is on my 'must see list'. I came through there in 1971-72 and what I remember (it was in winter) was the strong winds as we approached Keflavik. Seconds before we landed we were still over the large swells. As a kid I read a book about Hekla, one of the many volcanoes on Iceland and I am anxious to see the land..
