Description
Getting re-acquainted here with the designs of Roland Payen, an eccentric French aircraft designer who was doing his best work in the late 30's. Unfortunately, his pioneering work with delta wings was cut short when the Germans invaded. His designs were confiscated, tested and the Germans were not too impressed. After the war he never regained his momentum, and today is almost totally unknown. I just happened to stumble onto a website that had bunches of his designs displayed in three-view. This is pretty close to the original Pa.100 [except for color scheme] although I've dumped the fixed landing gear and went to retractable. From what I have been able to find out, there are very mixed reviews about how well it actually flew. I'm working on a companion design, a twin-engine fighter/bomber. When they're done I'll import them into one of the 'Tank mooV' cityscapes.

...don't know why that bogus thumbnail keeps turning up.
I am really enjoying your work. Keep this up and you should end up with enough to parlay into magazine spreads or hopefully a coffee table book! "Kelley's Guide to (Ersatz) Aircraft"?
Very interesting aircraft.
really nice modelling and texturing, would love to see it in a scene :-)
Real interesting work. Fine done.
Nicely done, interesting plane.
I think that roland was a little ahead of his time in aircraft design it resembles modern day form of delta wing crafts. As always nice modeling !
Burt Rutan would have liked this. It looks EZ. The VariViggen may also feel some heritage. I do like the chief on the tail.
