I'm really shocked about something that has happened last week in the North of Germany... my son has found the message in the internet. I cannot get over it and it pushes me to tell you the story which is really terrible:
Some months ago a Lady had found a squirrel which had been in a bad shape. She rescued him, took him home and gave him shelter, went to the vet and and feed him. The plan was to take him to the woods again when he felt better. But then the squirrel made friends with the Lady's cat... both the animals were so adorable. They had a lot of fun playing together and cuddle up while sleeping. Then the media got notice of that unusual friendship and wanted to do a lil reportage about that. They came with a camera team to the woman's house to do a movie. The lively squirrel ran around and the team had so much fun watching. But suddenly the cute squirel climbed up the leg of the camera woman... she got hysterical, started jumping up and down irrationally. The little squirrel was scared. He fell down from her leg and that stupid woman jumped on him!
What a horrible death for this cutie!
What a tragedy!!!
I'm really sad for what had happened and the worst is the camera team apologized, said it has been just an accident and went away. Now I have to think of the lady and her cat... what a loss for both of them!
Sorry, I didn't want to upset you with that sad story but Ijust felt to tell you about.

I have no use for reporters.It never fails when there is a trajedy some stupid reporter will ask the relative or someone that witnessed what happened. "what was going through your mind?" I hope I am never am in a situation like that, but I always wanted to say to a reporter" well, I was thinking how long in prison would I get if I kill a reporter that asks me what was going through my mind". excellent capture of mr. squirrel-V
You're story saddens yet angers me.And what I find MOST upsetting of all is HOW on earth does a 'person' STOMP on any small animal.STOMP?!I can understand (but can't really do myself...) stomping on an earwig,say, in your house, but a small animal???That woman should be fined and punished for animal cruelty.She obviously has bigger issues than squirrels running up her leg.
What wonderful expressions these cute aniamls have. I love looking at them eating out of my bird feeders. So comical how they play and chase one another. Wonderful capture Monika Tks :^)

First of all, this is an awsome image of a very adorable creature and he does look shocked! Secondly, that is a very terrible sad story! Yet, my question is: because she was hysterical, did she jump on it on purpose or on accident? If she did it on purpose, I agree she should be in bigger trouble. If she did not mean to, well I have a feeling she most likely would be extremely upset and should appologize a little more than she did. I am not excusing her actions, but I have to wonder if anyone could be that cruel in front of the people.

You don't have to be sorry... This kind of stupidy has to be denounced and you had a great idea to tell us this little drama and to illustrate it with this cutie. This stupidity has just killed one animal but the stupidity of any of us (including myself) kills everyday thousands of them, kills our mother earth... BRAVO!

Well, I never did have a good opinion of the media. 8-b Very sorry for the woman, her cat, and the little squirrel. Condolences to all. (Stupid cow should have been better prepared for the unexpected. Sheesh! These guys know no fear and are grand moochers. Probably just wanted a treat.) Sorry, Monika.
i was laughin' my a_s off when i saw this picture. then i started crying when i read what happened. oh, my heart is aching, Moni. tears
What a terrible story. Nevertheless the picture is wonderful. Too much noise in the little guys head but the shot is done so perfectly that it is not hard to overlook.
The one great lesson from this whole incidence is that....... Human animal still needs to grow up..........the other species already have.:O((

so sad news about the squirrl breaks my heart.. i saw the squirrl logilu did today and said wheres monika and it touched my heart.. i love your little german squirrls with the high tipped ears they are so facinating nothing like american squirrls... love your work!!
