Description
A better view of the old grain elevators putting things into perspective. I hope those stairs are a fire-escape and not the usual route for going up and down! Not sure how high this thing is, but there is usually a stiff breeze around here. Danged if you'll get me on an open stair at that height in a breeze if I don't need to be there!
That said, we see the area has been fenced off by the Long Fence company. The usual for around here. However, looking past the fence, we see a white ship in the distance: SANCTUARY. We also see the nest on the yardarm and I will bet dollars to donuts that speck, which I first erased, is the osprey coming home. When I took a close look at the speck, I realized it had wings and was not the usual 'duspec' known to ruin many a photo.
The odd pattern on the silos has to be weather proofing and patchwork. I have no idea how old these are.
Some info about this complex from a Google:

We will be leaving this area soon. Only a few more shots.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

real cool shot of this building
wow, fascinating location. be careful my friend. looks like the atomreaktor of Tschernobyl. !!!!!!!!!!! #:O) !!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL, echo logiloglu's sentiments. Doesn't look like a tea and crumpets neighborhood. Great capture of urban decay.
I agree with logiloglu and with b2amphot. Indeed 'urban decay'. Bravo !!!
It's like in comunism...he, he! Excellent shot!!!
it is a little desolate looking... i'm up for something brighter!
I recognized the place !!! It's Baltimore !!! :-))))
what a strange view and interesting stuff you captured with an excellent POV! ;o)
Dear TW, the patching looks like freeze/thaw damage to the concrete - and that is scary! It looks like these were monolithically cast in place - 50's type construction. I'm glad they are not in use - and I'd still be concerned being close to them even when empty. Excellent work!! Love, Meredith
That would be exactly the kind of weather they go thru every year. Yes, a grain elevator explosion is not something I'd care to be near.
