Description
Yes, it's a ship. A retired hospital ship: USHS SANCTUARY (AH-7). Now serving the community as a Project Life endeavor: a drug rehabilitation clinic for women. Capacity 300 patients. What an idea!

Back when... we used to drive I-895, and I noticed this derelict vessel sitting, with a pronounced list, in a 'low rent' neighborhood not far from a breakers yard. I recognized her immediately from that distinctive kingpost mast with the lattice work. Years earlier, I'd built a Revell model of it; and here was the real thing looking white, sad, rusty, and at the end of its line.
I believe the ship is white. From this angle she looks blue and nothing I do looks 'right'! I believe the sky was reflecting off the water and just about everything else that day.... then it could be a blue ship now! ;-)
Well if USHS HOPE can cruise the world, SANCTUARY can do some good at home.
Good luck ladies, and good luck SANCTUARY.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
On another topic: You should be familiar with some of the waterfront property, so take a close peek at those buildings across the harbor on the right side of the image. Look familiar?
Oh yes, there is something very odd about this picture. See who spots it first.

IRONY, the ship's name is sanctuary with a big birds nest in the yard. cool
amazing view onto this large and impressive ship! ;o)))
Dear TW, I'm still running behind and trying desperately to catch up. I think the hordes of e-bot's are gaining on me! YIKES!! It's so encouraging to see the ship put to good use. So many are scrapped or left rusting away. It's nice to see it still providing "Sanctuary." I like ships as much as I do trains!! Excellent work! Love, Meredith
It is definitely white. White, and more white. Dang the blue!!
