Description
Over the Hill: Just a little up and over the hill. You can see Humu'ula's trail in the 1st picture (top) near the top/center The rock-terrain there is really nothing to see as compared to the view looking towards Mauna Loa. In the bottom picture, Mauna Loa. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

There is'nt really not much vegetation there in those areas is'nt there?Almost look like from an other planet!Very interesting landscape photograph though! Thanks for sharing! If you ever get the chance ,come and see our BC. mountains!Have a great day my friend! :)
That is really a eye-opener for this scandinavian...i always pictured Hawaii to be the most colourful place on earth, full of vegetation...not like this. Very educational, LOL. Have a great sunday #:O)
Once again...excelent shots!*****!
Incredible how arid these area's are! It seems almost like a landscape on Mars besides some flowers and the clouds! Fantastic series, Errol!
impressive colored ground and what a fantastic far view! wonderful and perfect work! seems very dry there! ;o)
reminds me of the movie "Red Planet". this place totally looks like another world, the color of the gound and the sparatic patches of plant life make for a desolate looking landscape! very well done!!!
Looks like rough going but well worth it for the view! Nice Captures! Aloha!
Looks like hot & dry terrain, up to Mauna Loa!!! Awaiting the views from the top!!!! excellent!!
Great landscapes
Fine Images Sharky....I have been referred to...as Your Title :[
I suposse this was a volcano by the looks... what kind of terrain is it ? Seems to be a kind of iron mineral. Terrific landscape Errol !
As I've already said... is so great to follow your hikes! Both views are fantastic! The terrain looks pretty dry!
isacos. Mauna Kea last erupted about 3,000 years ago. Its ground terrain is mostly rock, sand and dirt. There are plant life up in the higher altitude but with unwelcome arms because of the weather and elevation elements. I'm unaware of the iron minerals. The landscape seems to change colors from winter chocolate to summer red. The land scape would look more like pictures you see on "MARS". All those pictures of mars could have been easily taken on Mauna Kea, lol....Aloha and thanks for asking
gorgoeus texture of landscape..sublime p'graphy.. :)
