Description
E Pluribus Unum at work. Enjoy it. It makes life interesting. ;-D
This is on Eastern Ave. just off Broadway in Balamer. Near the Fells Point district. What was a thriving Polish immigrant community is now a thriving Latin American enclave, and sometimes the two come together in ... unusual combinations.
I believe this was a savings and loan company. It is now a ladies hair salon. Closed, but my interest was piqued. What else is in this neighborhood?
Things are changing around the town. One of our favorite Greek restaurants in 'Greektown' is now Azteca de Oro. We will probably give it a try, but Ikaros. and Akropolis. are still our main attraction in that end of town. Sadly the big German restaurant is gone... maybe just moved and awaiting re-discovery.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
Don't let your pidwa/cervesa get warm!

Seems very Cosmopoliton..don't know what a Jak tam is? What a Fusion :]
Nice to see! Excellent shot!!!
Dear TW, you always manage to stir up my interest. There are a lot, if not most, of our cities, large and small, in similar transisions. As youv'e observed, you end up with some strange cultural mixes at times. Something else I find interesting is how close some of the Polish words are to Czech. I'd never focused on the similarity before. Good luck on finding your missing restaurant. Excellent work!!! Love, Meredith PS - I'll keep my pivo cold, too!
close, closer... interesting place for sure! :]
exploring and finding is most of the fun!
Interesting to see other parts of the world. Same old street lamps though. Excellent and very sharp.
cool captures of this area! great idea to watch what is going on in our towns! I notice that all old wellknown shops are closing in the city! most people seem to shop in super markets! ;o)
