LOL... have taken some shots of unfolding ferns in my garden this week, too! So you were earlier in posting ;o) Mine are not that beautiful... not sure to post. Gorgeous shot!
I wonder how they do taste??? Probably very green and earthy!!!LOL Love the artsy image!!! Excellent POV!!!!!!!!
So that's what they are? I too took some shots of some and did not know what they were. They of course came out blured. Fantastic shot.
I haven't photographed them and I haven't eaten them, BUT I'm willing to try!!!!! Excellent image and I really love the background colors too!!! Great work!!!!!!!
This is a great example of fractal mathematics in nature. Ferns unfold with the same series of shapes you see in many of the julia-mandlebrot fractal images here-- I find that fascinating. Very nice composition in your photo.
awesome macro shot. great use of DOF. an impressive capture,Akemi. * BraVo * #:O)
Nature's own spiral fractal. Beautiful. Thanks.
Always very impressing to see them unfolding.
Beautiful macro of this young fern tree. In the Japanese recipe, the young tender fern shoots are called Kakuma. It is picked very young, clean and then boiled for some time till tender. The outer skin is removed and the fern is cut into strip or cubes. You can make soup or mixed stir fries. Aloha
Love to see those ferns, perfect examples of self-similarity!
What an awesome find!! New life.
