When diplomacy fails....

the contrasting colors are at war in my eye!! brilliant, sad & captivating :]
I agree with the above, and I think the confusion and the difficulty of distinguishing figures from background adds an extra level of poignancy. And those tanks are great.
makes me wonder why.....great job
Thanks for the comments! I wanted this to be a very symbolic piece, like Diplomacy. I wanted there to be no clear reference to any particular "Real world" army. I chose Red and Green for thier symbolic value, but also because they do contrast each other, and actually "Vibrate". The ground plane was experimental, but I was happy with the result. I made the tanks from primitives, even though I have highly detailed models I could have used, again because I wanted to keep it symbolic. The only "Realistic" element are the explosions, I thought that added the realism I needed to make the piece surreal.
I really like the ground plane. And I also really like the way that you didn't use different props for the different sides (i.e. everything is the same on both sides, and the only difference is the color). Nicely done. And sad. :-(
The Robaxacet soldiers look like they might get the upper hand on the republic of mantis --but then nothing is gained in the end--a very fine work of art --powerful motion and vision --as always.. excellent --I will walk softly and carry a large Vote
love everything about this!! i know it s war but i find thme a bit amusing ..like little toys getting into it!!... THis is really spectacular love the lighting!!...VOTE!!
LOL!! I love the comments, yes I had toys in the back of my mind, as I was making this.
A sequel! I like it how they are not using weapons but instead going at it up close & personal... in my mind it symbolizes the fact that no matter how much technology we introduce to it, war is always the same: you are still killing the other team's soldiers to try and force him to conform to your demands. I think that you should add some dust in there (maybe Peter Sharpe's mist texture--I love that!) to further symbolize how dirty and awful war is. Well done artistic expression. V
Well done! The colors and the lack of detail (no specific uniforms, countries . . . ) work very well to get the point across.
Will we even reach the shores of peace? As a race that is head of this planet we still manage to kill one another for land and greed also we are like a cancer eating away the very essence that gives us life Earth. I sometimes wonder were we created just to destory??? Outstanding symbolic work friend. Bravo!!!...:)
Long time since my last visit... sorry. Amazing the concept in this work... and what to say about the colour, so powerful ! Excellent done !
you know red and green make a big mess when they fight!! great scene here !!! :o)
Vraiment impressionant et alegorie absolument originale! Une merveille!
Thought I'd have to see this one after your comment on mine. I dont even want to think about how much your computer must have struggled with all those guys! I dont know who to bet on though, red look mean, but I reckon it's even money. p.s. Thankyou for all the comments, very encouraging.
