Description

Caught in the act of procuring peanuts from my newly aquired squirrel feeder this little guy wasn't sure the camera was. If he wasn't so skittish around people I'm sure it could have been a very bad tasting snack. Alright, about the pictures from the other night, went out on the plane with the pilots in training and the battery in the camera dies before I get 4 shots. I had a spare of course but had already missed the shot I wanted, and the entire reason for the trip. The pictures I did get turned out blurred anyway, something with my camera and low light, never does well. I went out with them again tonight, this time armed with my little sisters camera. While a much nicer camera than mine, it still uses film (yuck). So it will take some time for the photos to come back, and I have to talk with a friend of mine about converting real to digital. This experience was quite nice in terms of my quest for my private pilot's lisence, however, it has proved to me that I need a much more advanced camera, that deals extremely well with low light (since that what I always like to shoot), in an order to further enhance my photography. This camera would have been ordered tonight counting on the money from my tax return, except for the slight little problem that that money was just spent on repairing the beautiful car of mine. What is left has found a savings account where it will slowly grow and be added to until I can achieve the proper amount for my camera. Anyone who would like to donate to the "New camera for Lucas" fund please send paypal to lucas.kaelin@cox.net Thanks for you comments, and views, and if applicable Thank you so much for your contribution :-D

Dear Lucas, Squirrels are some of the cutest and strangest of all animals. The Woodlands ahs I think 70,000 people and probably 7 million squirrels - and they are the most dangerous wildlife here - as they have almsot killed me more than once! They will sit on the side of the bike trails until the last possible moment, then dash madly across in front of you! Three times, I have had them run BETWEEN my bicycle tires. I have leanred to live in fear of the squirrel when on my bike! Excellent shot of this little cutie! Love, Meredith
