Description

Still working with auto paint effects and made a major breakthrough. You'll have to forgive me if I keep part of this under wraps, but I found a way to mix transparent and reflective materials to get the reflective at an angle effect for the gloss coat while keeping the color and blurred reflection of the overall paint job all in one material. Not easy in Vue 4, but here's the result. I very much welcome even harsh critique. If something here doesn't look right to you, please tell me. I want to make this as perfect as possible. Really good job; The car's rear hatch window looks like it has a 3-inch border at the top edge that is'nt tinted; Other than that, beautiful job.

Incredible render!! Only one thing, IMO, car lights don't seem as real as everything else, but, hey is my opinion :) Outstanding!

I think you're getting there. There's noticeable progress from the Classic 57 Chevy image. Reflectivity, that car paint 'sheen', is now near perfect. But the surface still looks a little "mottled", like the bodywork has been hit by lots of tiny hammers. To me this is most noticeable on the door and rear side panels although the bonnet (hood) looks good. Is this just due to low render settings? Image compression?

The only thing I see missing in this picture is your Lady Fair behind the wheel!!

Hi George! Lovely image but I agree with Big GreenFT. You seem to have a bump or a texture color function added that makes a sort of fuzzy reflection. if you can get rid of that it will be perfect!

Is a "bonnet" a hood? (goes over the engine...well... in some cars this would be the trunk..have no idea where the engine is in a mini cooper)... so I do agree with BigGreenFurryThing... but over all, this is a really great image to me!!!
