Description
Cygnus atratus the Black Swan is native to Australia and has been introduced to many other countries and even considered a Pest in Some.. Very beautiful and yet highly territorial and agressive honking and hissing to any intrusion into its space The red eyes and white tip to the red beak, add to the menace when one is not carried away by the grace and charm when on the water.. Adults weigh to about 13 Lbs and they have a 6 foot wing span Males and females are about the same size

SPECTACULAR!! the first report on an animal i ever did was on the black swan so this one is special 2 me,and will go to my favorites!
A wonderful photo and great shot my friend!!! Beautiful colors!!!!
Ciao Danny, una bellissima foto ! I always think that black cygnus are more majestic and wild than the white ones. And I don't understand why some people don't love them ! The effect of this drop on the water is wonderful. I remember that they are aggressive... when I was a little girl, one of them bite me the calf when I was walking long a small lake. Grrrrrrrr !!! I was just walking ! And he was alone, without his family to protect. I have been very hurt, because I love all animals, and it was the first time I meet one so aggressif. I love your shot ! Have a nice day. Nathalie, always with Giancarlo
You have an amazing ability for capturing the spirit of your subject!! Amazing as always!!!
