Description
The Superstition Mountains. There are many legends about these mountains and the Apache Indians hold them sacred. Of course, man is now building up to the very edge of them now. If you look carefully you can see a new mansion being constructed in the lower right hand corner - I have cropped out the hundreds below it.

Glorious atmosphere with this marvellous contrast and lightning! The dark clouds on top of the mountain are fabulous! A B/W photo with a real fantastic lightgame! Bravo!! VOTE

Beautiful capture!!! Very fascinating clouds, going B/W was the way to go. Makes it so much more moody. Well done!!!
I can see why the Apache held them as sacred. It is a shame that civilization has to spread everywhere, leaving no natural places untouched by the hand of man. Beautiful image.
verry nice capture you made there i like it :) what a place :)
It does amaze me the mood felling of the clouds in a B/W/photo.excellent job here.
Powerful looking mountains and clouds! I love the contrast the clouds have on the sky! Wonderful image Paul! :)
This looks amazing Paul!!! I also can understand why the native american think it is scary. I think in the dark you can be scared when you come near, but you captured it really great!! A wonderful photo and I can't say it enough, I love your black and white pictures, much more information and you get not carried away from colours!! Wonderful!!

Urban sprawl will get us all - the world will end up as one great chunk of suburbia!

Excellent photography !
You have some awesome mountains round there, this one is very ominous. and the sky is a perfect match for the mood you have created. Pity about the real estate, seems like that every where. Such a shame to spoil a wonderful piece of nature, love your shot, and effects, you do these so well. Eccellent. Vote. Lina

Such spectacular shots in this series. For some reason I envisioned this being out in the middle of nowhere... sort of saddens me to see development encroaching.
