Description
This was shot for the Photog Forum March challenge, social issues.
There was a time when idealism would have this flower fresh. My hair was longer then.

Yes, a strong image on visual + emotional + intellectual levels. By running on all three cylinders, it packs a serious payload. I don't see much of any way it could be improved - even like the frame, though i don't usually like those.
beautiful bittersweet & touching image... saids so much...may i sing again?... what have we learned... sigh... ""where have all the flowers gone, long time passing, where have all the flowers gone, so long ago... ...where have all the soldiers gone? they've gone to graveyards, every one... oh when will they ever learn... Good luck, this is one fine contribution indeed. Very strong image as jc said. Excellent compo.
always had a strong reaction to the art of destroying things. I've spent a lifetime trying to create things. The shortest song, the quickest sketch, all take an investment, an effort, a giving... And destroying them takes next to no effort or thought at all.
une belle photo pleine d intensite!!!!!!
Powerful picture.
If you're going to San Francisco...be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...That song still makes me melancholy. Unfortunately the blush is long gone from this old rose as well. Very poignant picture. A sad reminder of what is happening.
Inside a broken clock time survives. Great mood and shot!
Very creative addition to the challenge...the flower seems dried and dead...much like what the bullets do when they are used for the purpose of killing in suicide or murder. Strong image!
This is beautifully done.
I am totally impressed by this image. Everything about it, the colors, the composition, selective focus, and....the message perfectly told by just a single image!

Very powerful and moving! The colors are just perfect!
And hollow points no less? Some one is serious! Yes "Make love not war!" What happened to the idealism? The protests? (Not you) it seems like people are afraid these days to speak from the heart, for fear of being labeled "Unpatriotic". It's depressing really, I refuse to be a sheep. Thanks for sharing this thought provoking image!
