Marcus and I, after the wedding, went to live in Marcus's house across town. The quiet house was close enough to father, who still wanted to be an active part of my life. Our house was large and beautiful, with many rooms. Mine was on the second floor, third door on the left. My new husband, who knew I wasn't fond of the arrangement, slept in a spare room down the hall. During dinner one evening, Marcus voiced his desire to have a child. He and I hadn't yet been intimate. A few days afterward, I accepted the fact that this was my new life. If Marcus desired a family, it was my duty as his wife to provide what he desired. Nine months later, we had our first son. We named him Gabriel. Father was more then overjoyed when he heard the news of our child. Why, I suspect he told the whole town. In the beginning, the marriage was better then I had first expected; Marcus was indeed a good provider for the family, and a loving father when he was home with the baby and I. He respected my wishes, and if I told him I wanted something he would go to the end of the world to make sure that I had it. When Gabriel was an infant, I discovered that I was to - once again - give birth.
