~Atlas~ Atlas was the son of Iapetus. Unlike his brothers Prometheus and Epimetheus, Atlas fought with the other Titans supporting Cronus against Zeus. Due to Cronus's advance age Atlas lead the Titan's in battle. As a result he was singled out by Zeus for a special punishment and made to hold up the world on his back. There is also a part of his story which involves his trying to trick Hercules into holding up the earth instead during Hercules' trials ... Hercules was required to get the golden apples of the Hesperides who were the daughters of Atlas. Unfortunately for Atlas Hercules didn't fall for it. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sketched on Bristol, image cleaned up in PSP, using airbrushing for background, added the frame and here you are... Bear with me on this folks, it's a first, my first full (or almost full) male figure. Again, I don't do men well. But I was happy with this one!! As always, take a bit of the magic with you please and have a wonderful day. My thanks to all who have viewed previous images, hope you left a bit happier for it.... always Pat
