Good water and lighting effects!
One obvious critque: you forgot to remove the extra set of sails and extra flags the original creator made for the Victory model. He made different sail and flag configurations for different weather conditions, not to be rendered all together. I really like the lighting you have shown, I think the whales, although good, detract from the scene. Try removing them and just showing the ship with the lighting as is. The reflectivity of the water is good, don't do anything more to it. Suggestion: if you are going to do more of this kind of scene, with this ship, do your research. There are artists out there that paint this ship in as realistic a scene as possible. They pride themselves in accurately portraying ships as best that is known. I have suggested to others to checkout this site: www.scrimshawgallery.com/Online Gallery/Paintings and Prints section, look over the art of Geoff Hunt, Geoffrey Hubband, Charles Vickery, on the site. Geoff Hunt is the artist who illustrated the Patrick O'Brian Novels, etc., and is considered one of the best modern nautical artists today. This is a good start, keep it up.
Very good seascape, sorry to have to agree with FitArtist about the sails and flags. That is a minor detail though considering the remarkable sky/lighting/water look in this image. Well done !!!!!
