Description
Some days ago I was looking in drawer with old photos
and found this one of my mother as a young woman.
I think the photo is from around 1925.
I started to work on it, and it turned out to be
an exploration of the two sides of her
The light one that she showed,
and her more hidden shadow side.

I see the shadow across one eye Gun, very symbolic. Could be how she did not see all that was in front of her, or unable to see all. Wonderful color and texture, very insightful work!

Great intense portrait of your mother. I think mothers quite often try to hide their dark side - they must be so loving and tender before their children; they must be extremely strong in what ever situations. We see something from their dark side - but after years and years we learn to to know better it. And I think that our mothers are so beautiful in those old photos :-) Great work, Gun! Very inspirational too...

What a thoughtful image Gun, I think this generation had their hidden side with regard to their children, Im not sure if I have a hidden side from my children or even if I would want to.
