Description

The Mandelbrot set never fails to amaze me. This little Mandelbud inhabits a region at a magnification of 1e17. If my calculations are correct that would mean that if the Mandelbrot set were enlarged to occupy the distance between the earth and sun, this baby would be about 1/10 the thickness of a human hair...(UF)

What an incredible effect this beauty portrays! It appears so tactile. Very well done, and thanks for the lesson on size, it is truly amazing isent it? Bravo! (=

Beautiful mandy! The embossing makes it come to life. Fascinating facts as well. Thank you for sharing them both. Excellent!

A very beautiful classic image. I imagine this was a long render. Thanks. It was this type of fractal that drew me to fractals way back when.

This is great. I wish I had the patients for an image like this. I guess it helps to have a hot machine.

Hey Keith, I don't think I would have attempted it on my P2 266...it was still about an 8 hour render at 1600x1600---not too bad...
