Description
Have had some time over the holidays to really work with Altitude Constraints - something I really haven't used too much of in the past. This is the first of a couple of renders based on the same terrain but with differing POVs, sun angles, etc., using these constraints. There are 41 layers of rock, sand, grass and snow. I hope you will enjoy them and as always, thanks for viewing and commenting.

Great Job! I love the clouds. :)
Excellent surface and wonderful water !!
Wonderful scene, super snow- surface,POV, colors, atmo/light, sky and mood! Happy new Year!!!!!
Nice scene, but the toilet bowl cleaner effect needs to be removed from the shallow water at the water's edge.
I once made a really good image using only 3 layers and one texture file. I don't think its how many layers but where and how much the layer shows. To find a layer I usually make it neon green and adjust it to the height and coverage I want. I've used other artists surface files and did the neon green thing and some of the layers did not even show up. All you can do is keep experimenting...
