No great masterpiece this, but it shows what happens when you turn Gnarl into a Mandy/Julia formula so that the gnarl pattern gets iterated. UF.

LOLOL! My brain does that kind of weird stuff WITHOUT drugs! Mark Townsend is one of the undisputed First Fathers of Fractaldom IMNSHO! Have you tried his Perlin 3D Noise Transform, It does a great job hiding what I call 'BoTox scars' (kinda like what you get when you put a non-zero value in the Imag part of Power for Mandy or Julie sets.) Great piece, man!
