Description
Sentinel like
You stand at night
Your twisted arms
Holding varigeted flags
That wave in three quarter time
To the winds wild anthem~
Your knobby tentacles
Are sweet sucking sustenance
From the frozen dirt
Your furrowed hide
Is holding laughing sap
Warmly inside~
Sentinel like
You stand at night
Firm against the earth
Braced through winter's whiteness
You wait, for the greenness of spring
Then again
Your twisted arms will stretch
and shake
With the weight of new riches~

I can't imagine a more perfect image for this beautiful verse. I like the part, "Sentinel like You stand at night Firm against the earth Braced through winter's whiteness" Nothing more majestic than a tree, and what stories they could tell. I love this, hon.
