Description
The bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a member of the sea and fish eagle group. Its closest relatives, similar in appearance and habit, are found in Africa and Asia. Even though they are fish eaters, they will take whatever prey is available and easiest to obtain. Bald eagles which live along the coast and on major lakes and rivers feed mainly on fish. Bald eagles fish in both fresh and salt water. One way it gets rid of salt is by excreting it from its nostrils and down its beak you can just make out a drip...

so majestic & proud! :]
Supurb as usual Danny. There is a town about a 90 minute drive north of Vancouver named Brackendale that has the largest gathering of bald eagels in North America. The eagles start arriving in mid November and stay until mid February, with the largest concentration in late December to January. You can check it out here: http://www.brackendaleeagles.com/ ...unfortunately I haven't a zoom to get a decent shot :( Again, this is beautiful.
Have loved all these large bird shots. This one is so regal. Keep it up...
