Description
Another exercise in simplicity: This is a 2049 terrain. Layering consists of the base + one rough dark + one light smooth, meaning there are only three terrain colors. Postwork: resize from 2000 X 1500, sharpen 30% + enhance detail + contrast / brightness adjust.
Why the title? That was the render time - in minutes, not hours. I spent more time on selecting the POV.
Thanks for looking in!

Great photorealism in the f/g surface - some times the simple things simply work!
Let's say it the right way: for a six minutes worth render, it is one of the nicest I have ever seen! ;-)
Great Terrain....I love the surface work you've done here...Awesome!!!

Superb Surface and atmos.

Super landscape, perfect mood!
Love the simplicity of it, great point of view.
Fantastic sandy surface, nice terrain and peaceful atmosphere. I like it.
Love that terrain...super surface work and atmosphere!
Wow! Super impressed... at the render time, the use of only three layers, and the quality of the image! Superb, sir!
I love the sculpted terrain and lay of the land, and the surface work is so fine and excellent. Wonderful atmosphere and clouds.
Ok, Ok, I need to upgrade my computer. This is a great example of what can be achieved with clever application of minimal surface layering. Inspirational.
Truly outstanding! 3 layers is that all ? Excellent.
Still quite nice for a simplicity exercise Rich !
Echo Rev. Great exercise and shows that more is not always better. Also: great art. Kudos to you.
A beautiful, vast expanse to explore.
6 minutes??? You must have a PC with afterburners! This scene is the kind I always try for but rarely attain. Excellent work Rich!
shows how much a great atmosphere means, even with a simple surface, it can look very real. Beautiful work!
