Description
In 1926, the German-made silent film "Metropolis" was released, directed by Fritz Lang. This model and image were inspired by a robot called "Hel" from that film, also known as the "False Maria". I don't know if she was the first cinematic robot, but definitely an early one. :^)
She was also the inspiration for C3PO from "Star Wars".
