I wish I could post the whole 2MB images, the first of which shows the open bill without aliasing. The avocet seems like such an *unlikely* design, doesn't it? The images were collected directly into the rising Sun, which gave the grey mudflats a more appealing color sheen.

Unlikely is right - great captures however, and good presentation even if you couldn't load the whole image uncompressed.
