Chatting with Varian brought this image to my mind... A foggy sunrise similar to the ones I used to see when driving through the park on my way to work in September.

This is a fabulous image! I really inspires a dreamy, misty feeling in me, and reminds me of the old Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Truely excellent!
I like this, very peaceful. You know, this image type translates perfectly into Inkscape. Mostly a matter of using objects layered over objects with the mist applied as a soft translucent gradient.
