Description
This is a poem I wrote when I was a Junior in High School back in 1989, so bear with me:
Drache
Upon a mountain
I found a dragon
With beautiful scales
Reflecting the sky
Its kind and generous eyes
Did not notice me.
I thought to myself:
"This was worth the climb"
It was so graceful-
The batting of its eyes
The movement of its limbs.
I was in awe.
"Are you 'Love?'"
I finally asked.
Its eyes looked upon me,
Beckoning...
Possessing me.
I was enthralled.
"This was worth the wait."
It sighed gently,
Looked tenderly at me;
As though,
I were a fragile child...
Naive.
"Yes."
Its voice,
was a powerful chiming of bells,
"Do you want me?"
It smiled.
I could not breath.
Its voice seduced me.
"Yes."- I whispered.
The word echoed in my head.
"Then accept my yoke."
Its neck arched
Its head bowed
I embraced its flame
And became a cinder.
