The shot was taken on Kennesaw Mountain, north of Atlanta, GA, USA on a mountain trail. This was a nice place to be in the woods, part of a Civil War battlefield. Amazing, a section of land surrounded by the battlefield is being developed for residential homes, starting at $200,000 per acre. The flower is of more interest to me.

Wild flowers seem so alien yet totally beautiful! You have an eye for detail with this photo, excellent shot !!!!!
Lovely image. The only contructive comment I can make is that I would have cropped it differently: a portrait crop, taking off about a fifth more from the right -hand side, rather than a square format. A deft touch you managed with the exquisite delicasy of those petals! A lovely job. Thank you.
Beautiful Flowers. Great picture !
Great mountain flower shot! It's little overexposed and this cannot be repaired. Fragile blue is a difficult color to capture. @seanna square is indeed a difficult format for a good composition.
Such a lovely find!
Lovely photo!
