Description

Rendered in Bryce 5...inside a lightdome -pffffff (70 h on a 2,2GHz proc.). I wanted to simulate global illumination since I wasn't happy with the greyish colours I obtained first; I believe the lightdomes do the job but we need serious proc. power. ;-) Objects from web, Bryce trees, slight touch-up in PS (waterfall, smoke, highlights) - thanks for viewing.

Gorgeous image!! There is so much work done in this scene I don't know where to start. The castle is spectacular and very well planned out, right down to the cathedral over looking the river. The sky and lighting is powerful and menacing, all the trees and shrubs add great depth. I love the canoe half submerged along the riverbank. Cool little transport ship. The thought that went into this is remarkable. Great job!! ~ Ryan

Wonderful job! I'll say it was worth 70 hours, although I have never spent so much time with a render in Bryce.
Great composition and atmosphere.
Where does that castle come from. It's just wonderful.

hmm light dome for external scenes... well the result is amazing, but maybe playing a bit with ambient colours and shadows indensity was enough.. don't you think? well... I've tried dome also once on a outside scene... time consuming but excellent results :)

Thanks vasquez: I observed that the colors was kind of greyish/reflecting? even after much experiment with ambience (0-30%); no doubt that Bryce (the render engine) is getting too old so you have to use some extraordinary measures in order to have really satisfying result...hm, I should stop checking the 3DSMax gallery...:-))
