Can not believe it
My gentle giant went away
On this sunny day
Urchin is no more ... Had to let him go, the pain of the recently developed bone cancer was too much for my big boy. But he will live on as my working name, here on renderosity. We had a wonderful life together and I know he will be waiting for Linda and me, somewhere across the rainbow bridge. So, please raise your glass tonight, to the memory of Irish Wolfhound "Urchin of Beltine". He will never leave my heart ...
Thank you so much for viewing and all of your comments.

So sorry to hear of your loss. He looks like he was a good friend. This is a lovely tribute.
My heart aches for your loss. We are blessed to have these sweet companions by our side. Their love will be cherished long after they are gone. A fitting tribute for such a lovely being.
I'm really sorry about Urchin. I certainly know about your pain, Sorry for you and Linda! Interesting composition.. Wonderful dog!! Excellent work :)
What a wonderful way to celebrate urchin's life and memory! Be comforted in the knowledge that your grief is shared. May you meet again in another time and another life.
I'm not good at choosing the right words for these things, specially in English (not my mother language), but animals are beings that warm up our hearts when no human can. I thank you for giving your friend a good life, since sadly not all animals have that. I have Kia (my new kitty) here beside me and she says "meow" to Urchin and your family. :)
Just saw this today, but I had to tell you that I know exactly how you feel. My Chloe died April 9 2004. She passed being held by those she loved best, and I know that she is somewhere playing beyond the Rainbow Bridge as well. He was a beautiful animal, and no doubt, a faithful friend.
this is very sad, dirk, and i feel with you.
he will be there on the rainbow.
Tears for you, & all who have lost true freinds.
A beautiful tribute to a wonderful companion :) So sorry for your loss Dirk.
