Description
"And I'll cross beaks with anyone that doubts it!" A rufous hummingbird looking for anything to chase away from HIS feeder. They are incredibly territorial and aggresive, and will even chase larger birds. If they were the size of crows it wouldn't be safe outside. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Great capture......
flutter flutter....reminds Me of ....Me. I am wee, Territorial and Aggresive....and I chase larger Birds...even those that X-Dress and are a Size 16....but, that's Your Business....what You do in the Privacy of Your Own Home is not My concern.....Your wee Bird is a real Hum Dinger :]
woooooo hooooooooooooo!!! thats a great shoot:O))
Excellent in-flight shot. Thanks. We don't see them here very often. I think too much crop spaying has ruined their habitat here.
I never knew that, thanks for the info and this great shot too!
we get a lot down here... but they're just so quick! wonderful capture! :]
I'm impressed, one of the problems with digital cameras is the lag on firing the shutter...hence my own upgrade...you caught this so well Jim.
Fascinating bird! Thanks fo rthe glimps!
wow, i never had seen this bird in live. a wonderful image, Jim. !!!!!!! #:O) !!!!!!!!!
Excellent capture Jim....We get alot of the little spitfires down here too...always a joy to watch!!!
Pff, excellent capture. Love your words too!
Hmmm... never thought they were as aggresive... thanks for the lesson and even more for this marvellous catch! hugz
Wonderful shot, looking at the wings it is little wonder how they got their name, beating almost too fast for the camera to capture. I have never seen one for real. Maybe one day!
Superb, Jim:) Those buggers are fast...so you did extremely well to catch it...never mind make a good shot out of it:)
more beautifull birds, taken perfectly as always, tough little sucker's,I miss them so much, oh I LOVE IT!!!!!!! :0)
Oh this is an aswesome image of a hummingbird! Love these little guys! Wonderful capture Dear Jim! :)
This is such a wonderful combination, the plastic feeder and the unlikely bird. It is hard to imagine this is a bird? yes?
