Description
Part of a story I was working on. There are these portals, all over the universe, put there by an ancient alien race. one is unearthed in Arizona, and some kids accidentlly step through it, they get chased by this guy in black. The guy in black is like the devil, and never seems to be affected by the change in environment.

Wow! Excellent image! Although you may want to add a different texture to that terrain, the snow works well but the brown lines look somewhat unrealistic. Besides that, fantastic job here, can't wait to see more of your stuff!
nice piece but he didnt dress well for his new location, it looks very chilly indeed.
Very cool!! Great idea!! And very well done! ;)
He looks like he might freeze to death with the skeletons that lie in the snow. Cool work...
ok the guy in black is unaffected by the climate, are the skeletons the children? And a personal question of mine is how doe sthe portal relate to time?
The skeletons are unlucky travelers, but not the children. The children escaped with an indiginous tribe of nomads. The man in black, is still thinking that they will be easy prey. But he has just stepped through the portal, he has yet to realize they are long gone. The portals are not time portals, more like transporters. They can be controlled, but the mechanism is not familiar to the children yet. They have only experienced a random event.
A really great illustration to the story --and your synopsis above makes the story sound like one you should not abandon --darn thing might sell ! sounds very good !
This is a very beautiful image! Excellent! Fantastic work! Original idea! Five stars!
