Description
What I am trying to accomplish is to put an overlay on the walls of the cathedral. It's not working out the way I'd hoped, but this version is interesting. Also, eventually I will add some stained glass windows which I photographed myself in a small town in Iowa, to the cathedral, in postwork. I will keep working on this until I get what I want. For a more distant project, I want to work on a terrain which is even closer to that of a gothic cathedral, including flying buttresses! Stay tuned.
Thank you to Dinalt for the wonderful terrain.
In my earlier posted message, I mentioned the chapel at Valparaiso University. You can see photos of the Chapel of the Resurrection, including the stained glass windows by clicking on each link on this page; each link has a photo. Also, if you click here, you will see several pictures as well as a tour which can be reached by clicking on the link, "chapel tour" on the right. Perhaps you can see why I love this Lutheran cathedral so much!

Interesting concept and I hope it works out. Don't know what to tell you about overlaying. Definitely need work on the atmo, and brighten it up a bit, but shading is great. Good luck!
Great detail work Pat. I can't wait to see this image in it's final edition.
You Could Always Call This 'Cathedral Rock', And It Will Become An Instant Tourist Attraction...
Nice Work None The Less!
That's a really ambitious project you've set yourself Pat, I hope it goes alright. I think the textures may have to be added in a 3rd party app., either Photoshop or PSP. (I tried every which way with this terrain, but it didn't look quite right in the final render). This pov gives the Cathedral a nice dramatic look, and I'm really looking forward to the finished project. Stained glass windows are a real soft spot of mine, so I can't wait to see the finished work. Thanks for making brilliant use of the terrain.
Tolles Terrain und Super Wasser !
I agree with Dinalt. This is an ambitious project. It will really be interesting to see how it turns out. If it goes right maybe you could give the rest of us newbies some tips. Thanks
Very cool...I can't wait to see it finished!!
celle-ci est tr jolie aussi, mais je pre l'autre .
originale complimenti
Superb idea!
V Very nice Pat.. You may have a long way to go, but you have also come a long on this picture. :O)
Uniquely unusual; but a fine composition.
WHEW!! This one is fantastic! I love this new work you are doing! Very inspiring and beautifully done Pat! :) V
another very ambitious project - have you thought of using surface distribution stencils to separate the textures? - it may take a lot of postwork to get them to sit right, but it may allow you to give different areas of the terrain a separate treatment
Brillant effect, this is a excellent image
Excellent lighting, colours and atmo!
