Look Ma, no pencil!!
One of the first drawings I did without penciling it out first.
I just started with the right leg, and kept going.
I was shocked that it worked.

is this from the mel gibson movie? It's a great drawing but that just doesnt quite look like mel's face.
Micheal, you are correct! When I did it I was 16, I was sitting on the sofa watching T.V. and drawing. I had a photo I was drawing from. I messed up the face, you're right, not a very good likeness! ;)
What an artist you are !! Your pen and ink skills here are so Impressive !! --about the likeness --I dont know, I see an essence of the actor and beyond that the character DOES step forward !! so it's not realistic--It's BEYOND realistic..
like a scupture, the image is always there it only waits for the artist to chip away what is necessary to reveal it....terrific work...I have struggled with color because it is more difficult to carry that "negative" in my mind...I always come back to the black and white of ink and pencil...

I could never master inking, let alone freehanding an entire picture. Then again, when you get in a zone, there's no limit. Great job!
