Description
In the moonlight above the palm trees, the orca dances to bring in the new year...
I wanted to do a more painted look to this one, and originally it was supposed to be part of the Orca Fantasies series, but it didn't really fit with the adventures of Tarna and family, so I called it Dance of the Whale.
If you like whales, check out Orca Fantasies One and Two, which begin the story of a little whale and her family and her magical flights of fancy.
Comments are welcome.
Thanks as always for viewing and your support, it is much appreciated and means a lot.
Poser/Vue/Photoshop/Painter
The whale was posed in Poser, rendered in Vue and then painted in postwork in photoshop/painter.

Enchanting!! The colors are breathtaking. This is gorgeous!
Fantastic looking orca, flying to the delight of all us onlookers. Gorgeous colors!
Nice colors. I like the caustics along the whale's side. :)
Very very beautiful Shadow my friend. What I always love about any of your sea-life pictures are the magnificent use of the color spectrum, always leaning toward the more warm hues. This render is positively delightful and I do so love Orcas. I really like the strong hint of the top foliage of a palm tree. A deserving vote from me.

A darling picture. The grossness of the animal dominates the scene. The transparency of the colors is like a slide.

Good to see you posting more images in this style. This is what first really attracted me to your gallery. :o) You have a fantastic eye for color, and despite that these are sea creatures, you have the unique talent to really make them fly. Very beautifully done. This would make a wonderful poster. :o)
