Description
April rises gingerly to face the approaching guard, her head throbbing, feeling ready to explode.
"You!" she says, recognising the guard she fought the night of her escape, and again the night she rescued Emma. "So that's what this is - revenge? I've kicked your ass twice before, what makes you think I won't do it again?" She stumbles slightly, braces herself against a wall with her concealed hand, and hopes he doesn't notice.
"I'm not here to harm you," says the guard as he offers her sword. "I'm here to set you free."
