Description
Digital Photo.
San Jose Mission, San Antonio, TX.
A bit of a detail of the arcade shown later in the series.
About this point an elderly woman started laughing at me: shorts, sandals, short-sleeved shirt, soaked right through. I was expecting, I was told, that it'd be 85 and sunny today.
"No, ma'm. Old stone photographs best in this sort of weather (thunderstorm in progress)."
(Chuckles)
A technique I learned in the UK some years back: you don't stay in because of the weather; you go out despite it. ;-) But it's sooooo glorious when a nice photography day comes by. Then again, eve detail on Japanese buildings comes out very nicely in muted light -- as a cloudy day.
Enjoy.

Excellent shot Weez! I have been to this place and you captured the feel of it perfectly!
Nice scene! Light is always important. Often the soft light of overcast days is better than sunlight. **: )
