Description
I read an article in a Swedish popular science magazine about ants and their relationship with the carnivorous plants of the nepenthes genus. It had a wonderful profile shot of the plant and I had to try to make in Cinema. The model was lofted and the textures are a mix if scanned images (partly from the magazine) and edited through BP2. Projection painting was used to apply them to the mesh. I used HDRI lighting (DOSCH Nature probe) with spotlights and simulated SSS on the cover leaf using Translucency Pro v1.1. Slight post work done to sharpen and to give that hazy look.
I also got to use my ant again =)
Thank you for viewing!
