Description
The Fourth Grave
On a hill in the woods behind this house are four little graves, each but one marked by a simple wood stick with a metal marker on it. The latest is unmarked as of now; I expect to do that piece of work at the coming weekend. The fourth grave is for my kitty, Sadie, shown in a gallery image

Very nicely written Tom. As the owner of three cats without having lost one yet, I'll be sure to come back and read this when I do. By the way, your closing sentence is simply magnificent and provokes deep thought.
*hugz dear Sadie & Tom... maybe she can look out for Peaches since he was so young when he left so bravely
I recently lost a pet who is now "beyond the rainbow bridge". If there are horses in heaven, there surely must be other animals...think?? As for grief being the price for love...I am tired of saying goodbye. I don't think my heart can stand another one...animal or otherwise.
Oh I am so sorry! Darn, I just commented on the first pic of her. I firmly believe that our animals stay with us long after they have 'left' us. Sometimes I sense a presence, sometimes its the memory that darts in. I miss the physical presence but I know he is still with me:-)
