Description
...she did not see her beauty
just saw what she had heard from her parents:
a troublesome child
And she took a crayon
and painted over
that troblesome face in the mirror.

a dreamlike and romantic image twinkled with emotional tension, great use of white space Gun, love it!!!
I'll write it into my book of howtos...
full of emotion... thanks for posting - the eyes express the mood of the girl perfectly...
Great picture... bravo :D
cool piece of work.. I once knew a girl in school who did just that... she scribbled marker all over her face before whe went to class every morning.. she also had permanent fangs .. an interesting individual but nice person nonetheless.. I really like this work :)
I like the high contrast effect. The tints of color really works well. Plus lots of motion with the use of lines.
I too enjoyed the contrast of the image as well as the poem.
So sad what some children have to endure. You have captured the emotion so well. Superb work of art!!!
She is still beautiful... marked or not...
my crayon was red
Thank you for the glimpse into real life

Beautiful and moving. Breathtaking work. Murph
Gorgeous!!!....and mezmerizing...
I tried to color myself with crayons once, my favorite color was periwinkle, but the crayon just wouldn't stick to my skin. Wonderful image.
And sadly this sort of thing happens all too often. Thanks again for making us stop to think.
Beautifully done!!! Excellent concept!!!
sighi feel a flash of anger for parents who do not nourish their children's self worth & confidence... took me a long time to get over it, still find myself fighting the ghosts for control of the crayons... beautifully done Gun- so full of emotion & familiarity... luv the highkey & colors
Gun, it's beautiful! It feels like I am looking on myself. And I love myself too.
Dreamy! on not dobule dreamy image!!!!!...Excellently done composition!..great eyes too...right colors..thank you for sharing it.
wonderful - it reminds me that sentence from J.L.Borges: "mirrors are abominable because they copy" - disturbing but in an artistic way
yes I know how your words can happen -- such a shame -- what a great way to illustrate your words
Agree with all above ... A great illustration - of a real girl in real life ...
Fantastic artwork ! Wonderful colors and effects ! Excellent technique and very creative ! "MY VOTE " Congratulations !
The very real, very traumatic pain of childhood is represented point blank with this image gun. This is a strong message rendered with precision. Fantastic work gun.
I see you've struck a cord with a lot of people Gun...I must say this is a very good image and means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Fantastic job in touching us with reality!
!!! Very potent work! the content is touching ','
I can remember, when I was little, destroying pictures of myself because I never liked what I saw in the mirror. I was never pretty enough, never worthy enough. Even today I cannot always look at myself, but I have made peace with the scars and the psychological wounds they left. Childhood is over and I am still alive...and perhaps that is everything.
