Description
Gimli has always been one of my favorite characters (next to aragorn and legolas of course) so i decided to give a try at a portrait of him. I mixed and matched armor from freestuff, along w/ my adventurers suit--wich is a lifesaver. Thanks to serrge for the chainmail texture, and for that bel strap around he chest, also thanks to ivyroses for the armor (in freestuff) and kelc for gimlis helm and axe (also freestuff) also i painted the beard in ps.
thanks for viewing and commenting!

Great Work. Will you do a follow up? Perhaps closer on his face?
Super Portrait, the Ambience looks very proffesional.
Dude, you are the man. This is tremendous work. Not only does it deserve a vote, but I bow to your brilliance as well. WELL DONE!.
Just saw the movie for the first time lastnight (yeah I know, I need to get out more). But I knew who it was soon as I saw the thumb. i.e. you did a great job!! Really nice work all around, and a wonderful job of construction from random pieces.
Yes indeed, this is awesome work Wood! Stunning portrait and love the dramatic lighting. Well done on a great render. ---- Scott.

Excellent character work and your POV makes Gimli seem heroic.
Gotta love it, but I wish he was holding the axe.
fantastic!!! :o) amazingly textured, and the lighting is dead on.
Whoa! Awesome! I love the POV, it gives little Gimli a great sense of power. Excellent all the way!
Wow! Great camera angle, love the low pov! I wanted to do this for a while as well, might give it a try when I got time
excellent render!
Very well done! If I were going to make a complaint, it would be that your Gimli has fewer skin-blemishes than the movie-version. ;)
Excellent work, perfect!!!
