Seems to me it's obvious why the prison was closed, LOL Looks really arty by the way. I like the character, looking very 16th/ 17th century-ish.
Beautiful palette; like the surface treatment and also the comp. Great image.
Many prisons we create for ourself - The world becomes devoid - cold - and bare - A unwelcome sadness lingers - For me your image has capture all the elements of one persons world of dispare - Excellent Work -
Beautiful piece of work... your textures and colors are wonderful...
To me this is symbolic of female oppression, or even that proverbial glass ceiling that women could never rise above. Beautiful textures, and wonderful colors.
Excellent image!! Beautifull composition, texture and color!!!
We always tend to search for a way out at "eye-level" which is the obvious level for our thought-patterns and mind games. But often the real way out can be found when we manage to look from outside our habits. The word "habits" has a double sense which, in my native language, Flemish, is very clear. Yet, in English we also have the word "habitation" to indicate an isolated spot from the world, the environment where we live, safely and protected. But sometimes the place we inhabit becomes uninhabitable. Same goes for habits. These too can bacome too small, too restrictive, oppressive, uninhabitable. Then we have to take the risk of leaving them behind, coming out of our shelter, out of the known. Many people prefer not to, and when you once saw/felt the sadness of a cat sitting in front of the window, longing to get out, you also know how humans hide in their energy drained patterns, longing, but not daring to take the step into the open...Build a world where you are happy, not a shelter that should protect you because, in the end, it will suffocate you.
great work!! :O)
Beautiful. A deeply affecting portrait with a world of its own, and an equally thought-provoking comment from Aeneas, one of the most profound things I've read for quite some time. Excellent.
it's hard to come after Aeneas indeed :) Gun, you are giftin us with such marvels, that Renderosity shall exist already just for it :)
Beautiful image and thanks Aeneas I needed to hear that.
Excellent, great contrast and textures.
A wonderful work of art if such art can generate such articulate commentry it is indeed very special! One of your finest among so many!
WOW!! I really don't know what to say!! So I guess I'll just sit here and stare for a while...
quite tranquil & haunting at the same time- well done... ... ...still reeling from the image & Aeneas's comment
in both instances there is a twilight when everything remains ...
"Once she thought the only way to escape was to fly away, yet her wings were clipped. Instead she came upon a ladder of hope, which led her to the path of courage".
Absolutely stunning image!! gasps Great work!
Symbolic of both physical "prisons" and emotional ones.Exceptional piece!!! A safe harbour is all one ultimately seeks in life and hopefully finds it.
